Default Is this axle too far gone?

I bought the jeep this way or cheap and was wondering if it was too far gone to fix the brackets and LCAs etc?

So is a new axle my only choice?

The axle could be fixed but probably cheaper to find one used,But i would be more worried about the uni body being straight since it got hit on the front side like that.

LCA toast. Axle possibly bent. Steering knuckle looks bent. Ball joints for sure toast. How do the track bar and tie rod look? Looks like an awful lot of work.

Have a body shop check it to see if the unibody is bent or not,If its bent see how much to pull it back straight if its over a grand i would cut my losses and part it out.

Had a local mechanic take a look and he stated it looked like the ball joint broke free but can simply be replaced and that nothing looked too out of whack. Not sure I agree but I will see what I can do about getting it checked by a full on body shop. Might have a line on another axle and components for cheap so here is to hoping the body is straight.

You can buy a good high pinion D30 for less than $200. Better yet, you could find one out of a 96+ and get the bigger u joints too.

i have tossed better looking axles than that, they are plentiful and cheap. make sure your gear ratio is correct to the rear end, may be worth pulling your ring and pinion but im sure you can find what you are looking for. Auto or standard?

hope your bod is straight, that would make me uncomfortable if they needed to "fix it", i already dont like the uni-body period for its weakness....

keep the axle shafts as spares and possibly the calipers too.

Thanks guys.

Found one for $50 but the gearing will likely be wrong since this is a manual and the donor an auto.

You should be able to swap the gears if needed.
