Default Axle swap question

Putting in a 8.25 in my 88, which comes stock with a Dana 35, so far, the Drums are a different size, the yoke is a different size, and I dont know if I can transfer the brake cables,(been forced to walk away from it due to a visiting friend).

Anyone do this swap already? I gotta go to the junk yard monday anyways for another yoke, I need to know If I need to pick up anything else. Thanks

Brake cable should transfer fine.

In the future when getting a Junk Yard Diff or what not it might behove you to pick up the rear driveshaft with it.

It is a junk yard diff, lol I just didnt know I was suppose to grab that much, I got a drive shaft, but we will see what happens with these u-joints, the funny part is last time this happened I was in a time crunch too, lol so hopefully all will be well. I am going to grab a yoke and the drums and I should be fine, be back in a couple hours (huge junk yard)

Here's what I found or needed when I changed mine.
Original U-bolts didint fit the 8.25 Had to get wider u-bolts
Got all new brakes for it.
My driveshaft bolted to it with no problems.
E-brake cables will work with it
Hope that helps.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, I havent left for the junkyard yet, and you saved me alot of money. I got the old u-bolts for it,(the ones off the jeep i took the axle off of) I just need drums/brake hard ware/ and shoes, the guy with the fork lift, was helping me reposition the xj so i can take out the axle and in the process one of the drums and all of the brakes on that side came off, lol

thanks again!

I would not use Junk Yard U-bolts. Buy new hardware and you can thank me later.
