Default Axle swap

I'm moving a dana 35 rear from one XJ to another. Should I move the drive shaft as well to keep as much of the original balance as possible or is this a non-issue. Anything else I should move?

Also, what's the best way to make sure the axle is mounted left-to-right as closely as possible?

Many thanks!

Drive shaft will not make any difference, ues the one that looks the best, when you pull it out of the xfer case, put something down so you do not end up with trany oil on the ground, yor axle have holes in them where the springs set. It is self exsplanatory.

X2 The leaf springs are your alignment device. Just let them do their thing. However, there is one thing you should do, check to make sure you are swapping the same ratio. There should be a tag on the cover. It should have numbers like 41-10 or something similar that is the tooth count of the gears. Make sure these numbers match or you will have some real problems when you put it into 4WD.
