Default axle rebuild

hi i have 35's on my xj with 3.55 gears right now, and i would like to get some of the power back that i lost. i can afford to buy the 4.56's with new carriers but i cant afford to get them installed, im in high school. my question is how hard is it to rebuild them myself. do you recommend it, or is it worth it to just save up more and get it done at a later date?

If you never did it before i would recomend having someone thats done it before to show you how to do it and if you dont know anyone have it done at a shop it not that hard but you need alot of information to do it correctly

Not to mention the cost of the specialty tools you need to do the set up properly.
