Default Axle question
K guys I found a 1985 cherokee 4cylinder. Engine gone body only for 500 what axles are in these and how much can I get for scrap metal?

Scrap is about 180 a ton where I'm at.
As far as the axles go you could have a D35 or D20 being that early.

No not really. You won't have any gains with the D35 and the D20 is a few steps backwards, good axle but has its own set of problems.

There is no D20. There is an AMC20 in the rear on some, which is a pretty good rearend. All XJs sold in the US had D30s in front.

You could read the tag on the diffs and find out what the ratio is.

$500 seems high for the Jeep though. Get it for less and part it out. I'd be curious as to which rear diff it has.

They did some weird stuff with rear diffs.

Did you know that the guts of the AMC20 were used in the Humvees?

Have seen a few of the AMC20 axles here in Bakersfield mostly on Comanches' but a few on XJs'
