axle nut problems

axle nut problems

An attempt to get.my hub off I stripped the axle nut and now its just free spinning on the shaft and won't come off or go back on.. What do I do now? Can't remove the hub until I get the nut off obviously it's a 2000 xj btw. Any help will be appreciated

You will need to replace that part of the axle shaft. You might try putting a pry bar between the nut and hub and try leveraging that while loosening the nut. Otherwise the tools pictured may help. Or a cutoff wheel.
