axle identifacation

Default axle identifacation

how do i know which axles i'm running in my XJ? i'm pretty sure that the front is a dana 30 and i've been told that the rear is a chrystler 8.25. what type of markings do i look for? how do i know which axle i'm running? any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Yup, front is a Dana 30. What year is your XJ and do you have anti-lock brakes? That information can pretty much give an answer most of the time.

The picture works good, too.

i'm pretty sure that it doesn't have abs brakes...but the picture that was posted brings things to light..i'll go look and see what mine looks like. thanks for repsonding!
