Good tech there... wish i was more familiar with manual's.

The worn shift fork, could that be a result of a bad bearing, thrust washer or maybe worn section of housing alowing too much end play?

You've got to shift into 1st, then from 1st keep your foot on the clutch and go right into reverse.

used to do the same thing in my rubicon after i put the lift on reverse was a b!+(h to get into

When your woman gives you a honey to do list, you just do it :-P. Honestly I don't know why. I do know that every old stick shift that I have driven is that way. :-)
