Default Automatic shifter handle

I wanna replace mine because its all sun faded. I could not find any bolts. Is the handle just press fit on or is there a way im not thinking of to get it off there?

mine just presses on and pulls off i know bc i was offroading and it pulled off when i hit bump lol

I just taped it up with the handle of a hammer and it poped right off and taped it back down to put it back on.

Mine has the reverse lock out thumb button. T-handle with the button on the side, I want to take mine off to replace my shifter gate, I cant figure out how either, and its not in any of my repair manuals!

mine has reverse lockout too just tap it up with hammer like ^^ he said

set parking brake turn key to on not start
push in button on the side
shift back and pull up hard it will pop right off

yup, just put it in a lower gear so you don't smoke your knuckles on the dash, and just give it a quick yank. it'll come right off. just pull up straight, or you risk breaking the little tabs that hold it on. it's a snap fit.

on another note, a grand cherokee handle works great in it's place.

So then any aftermarket pep boys handle with a lockout button should work just fine in its place?
