Hi again,
Got stock t-case & front skid on now.
Had the missus turn the wheel back & forth (I have a 3" lift) while I was under the XJ to check for any interference & noticed at the extreme left of travel the drag link bolts come very close to the reinforcing angle iron of the skid. So, took it off again & ground down the edge of the angle iron in that area to give me about 1/3" of clearance. I also tapped the bolts on the drag link slightly forward to keep them away (v.small amount).
My question is this, am I OK now or will offroad articulation situations force that drag link back into the skid reinforcement? I can remove it again & cut out a section of the angle iron if need be, but kind of a PITA.
Thx.

Guess so, I just jacked up all corners separately as I high as I could & the relationship between the drag link & skid does not change much (if at all).

could you not just turn the adjuster sleeve so the bolts are facing the opposite way?
i think i did this when i had my stock steering on with my front skid.
you don't want to cut that skid there, cause if you do and hit a rock, that skid is gonna fold and possibly do other damage.

Turning the adjuster on the will not affect the alignment. But you could just turn the lock bolt so they are on the inside. The drag link adjuster only affects the position of the steering wheel.

This is the problem with the stock front skid. It can interfere on on lifts over 2". Solution is aftermarket skid or trimming to reduce the interference.

How would it not alter the alignment? Its called and "adjustment sleeve for a reason. Turning that sleeve is how you adjust toe.

ok not to start an arguement, but the tie rod is used to adjust the toe. the drag link is used to straighten the wheel. 93gc40 was correct. not trying to prove you wrong, just dont like seeing false information on the forum.
