Anyone Heard of This Before?
I am working on putting a 99 Sport back on the road after sitting for about a year It was running with a bit of a occasional miss I had it idling while doing a coolant flush it then went rattle rattle clunk ping and stopped and now wont start?
It has no Spark! Yes more than likely a CPS failure
The ground wire that goes from the battery to the body (inner fender) was broken it must of been down to its last strand or two so when that broke the engine stopped?
I checked all the fuses and they are fine but the sensors are all on a 5 volt circuit would the ground wire breaking cause a spike enough to fry a sensor?
I bought a cps off rockauto but that will take a couple of weeks for it to get to the Aussie Outback ... I also got a OBD2 scanner off eBay that will take a week to get here at least I can check for codes then
in the mean time all I can do is ask questions
What do you think of my theory? any ideas ?
Thanks

Turn the engine over by hand and see if you're getting a 5V signal from the CkPS. Or crank it over to see if it's ~3V (cause multimeters are slow to react).
If that was it the engine would be working now.
How about all the relays?
Don't matter. Test the sensor.
