So, is there anyway to fix the front part of the driveshaft? What causes it to do this?

Yeah, that's not what ya want.

I'd pull the shaft off. Pull the slip joint apart and see which end is messed up.

You might get lucky and can replace the female end that you didn't just rebuild.

If it's the male end I'd just get another shaft and start over. You can get a new shaft for ~$150.

Wow, that's quite a bit worse than mine that I was already worried about. That's just the slip portion of the DS, allows it to extend/collapse as the axle articulates. My guess is that it just wears out over time, causing that slop. I'm curious too whether or not this can be fixed. Keepin my eyes on this thread lol.

Mine was pretty bad. I was going to and probably will in the future buy a Tom Woods shaft and be done with it, but I had a bunch of other stuff to spend money on so I went to a local junkyard and found one that was tight for $40. It had good ujoints, too so it was an easy fix for now.

So i packed it full of grease and it barely moves now and i dont hear any noises. See if that solves it for a while
