Default another ticket! need flare options!

great so i got another flare, seatbelt, mudflap, speeding ticket! i hate the cops around here. anyways i need flares asap but i would love to not have to pull out 450 for bchwackers. mine is a 99 classic with 6.5 lift and 33 toyo mts. those tires stick out alot! so my question is would tj flares work with the newer body style? and does it really look better using to sets of rear flares? what else could i do for fender flares? any ideas? pics? thank you

you got off easy.

i was pulled over last week and was invited to the MTO safety inspection lanes.

that means if their very picky mechanics find more than 3 things wrong, they pull the plates, and you may not get the chance to get it plated again.

so anyways, i go thursday. it's been a busy week getting my rig up to snuff.

we'll see what they say, i have no flares on the front, no mudflaps, badly worn tires but with enough tred to pass a safety, and beadlocks.

but if i were you, i'd look for tj rubicon flares, they're wider than tj flares.

You could've easily avoided the speeding and seatbelt fines.

take a wide piece of rubber and screw it to the inner fender and make it long enough to go past the tire for mud flaps, i was gonna do this for mine. its not pretty but its cheap and it will work plus it will take any contact if anything hit it and will not break like other fender flares

someone told me to use tupperware bins/lids, and just kelly-screw or tech-screw them to the fenders.

You are an idiot. The only reason they probably bothered to give out the mudflaps and flare tickets are because you DIDN'T have a seat belt on and you were SPEEDING. Maybe you should try to do the simple things, as by doing those you are less noticeable. Sorry they were doing their jobs, they probably hate young idiots like you around where you live.

+2, i can understand being upset if you got pulled over for just the flares and mudflaps the first time, but it seems like you were down this road before. I know alot of states require you to have the whole tire covered(here in PA to) luckily, there are alot of companies that like to make money off of these laws and will sell you flares to cover. You could also build flares if you can fab out of sqaure or round tubing and some sheet metal, there was a build somewhere on here but i dont remember anything else about it. The mudflap law is kind of ridiculous but, if you already have one ticket for it, no reason to get another for something as easy as bolting a mudflap

I know in PA if you're lifted high enough the mud flaps help to keep it legal.

The absolute cheapest thing you can do is obtain some new or used conveyer belting, cut it to shape and screw it on to the body. I have done this, even had two sets for different tires.
