I think if you have children or a family that loves you, riding without a helmet is pretty irresponsible just be cause 1/2 of the equation (other drivers) you can't even control. IMO

while i agree that seatbelts may not save someone every time, whats the reasoning behind not wearing one? More times then not they are going to save your life and help. Im ok with the smoking laws(i dont smoke), not because of second hand smoke, but because i hate smelling like an ashtray anytime i come back from somewhere that allows smoking. Your probably the same person that thinks its ok to smoke/drink while a women is pregnant, because not everytime the baby comes out with some kind of deficiency

Yea I do have family that loves me and yes that is a good reason to make the CHOICE to wear a helmet/seatbelt,but not a good reason for it to be a law punishable by a $100+ fine/court costs.
Well thanks for making a assumption about me but no I do not and would not be with a women whom would smoke/drink while pregnant because that has been PROVEN to cause birth defects but not liking "smelling like an ash tray anytime i come back from somewhere that allows smoking" Is not a good reason to make it a law and punish the Adults that chose to smoke to smoke. So is there anything else you dislike that we should lie about it's medical effects on other people and make into law, your Majesty?

Did i say that i thought you were ok with women drinking? No, i said that to get a point across.
I never said that smoking should be illegal, i just stated that i like the benefits of not smelling like an ashtray. If someone wants to smoke what do i care? I still went place and hung out in smoke, just didnt like the smell when i got home or the clothes were in the hamper and i could smell it. My brother smokes, doesnt bother me any. Second hand smoke? never read a study on but i dont really care too. Just another BS reason for the gov. to control us by a state of fear, like they did with nuclear weapons/cold war, then terrorism, then the economy, then swine flu ect.. the list keeps going.
The one thing you did get right was me assuming that you smoked. I figured sense you were defending it, you smoked.
It is just a pet peeve of mine when people moan and complain about getting Fed for breaking a law (no matter how BS it was made or the reasons for it being made). Pay the fine and get over it. It sucks but you cant fight it IMHO. So lets stop the dispute and call it a day, no need to have E-Fights over s**t we cant control

This is how I see it. If the law states seatbelts are required then use them. If there's no law, feel free to not use em but at your own risk. That's pretty simply huh?
If you were given a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt where it's required, you be bad and only person to blame is yourself.
Speed Limit 55 (for example) means the limit is up to 55 mph, not 56, not 61, but 55. Go over and you are at risk of getting a ticket. It's not how much you went over but the fact that you DID go over the limit. Yeah alot of cops aren't concerned with those who go 5 or so over but you are still going "over the limit" so only you can be blamed for that ticket.
There's a fender law in PA saying we can't run tires past out fenders. Of course alot of inspection places let it slide but there are some that do not and also cops that actually enforce the law and pull you over (been there, done that). Look at my jeep for instance, I have 32" tires but they are still inside the fenders for a reason. I am running stock icon wheels only cuz of the law, not cuz I like the narrow stance. I'm following the law to avoid what happened to the OP and so far I'm successful. I knew the law, and I prepared for the law. So if your tires are sticking out and you know it's not allowed then there's only one person to blame for that.
Mud flaps.....well that's stupid IMO but laws are laws and you gotta follow them. They do keep rocks and shi$ from flying up and breakin windows.

okay anyways back on topic. sorry i didnt specify my whole pulled over experience, but that wasn't why i started this thread.
i think i might just go with the 2 sets of tj rubicon flares. i think i can make it look decent because i need these to be permanent so i don't get hassled again. there should be a write up on it somewhere right? for front and rear?

I would just like to say this and then I'll stop so no starts crying to the Mods !?!?? Anyways Just because it was made a Law does not mean it is right, I mean in Ohio the only punishment for the theft of a horse is still HANGING. That is why we as Americans should debate and discuss these Laws. The only way to change them or get what you want done is to stand up and speak out. So I do not care if you like me or what I say but I'm always going to speak out or as you call "*****" about what is not right. So now I will stop before I get MODERATED!
First off how does not wearing a helmet or a seatbelt effect anyone's SAFETY but my own? My statement was not ridicules it is how I feel and I can give you just as many accidents were the seatbelt caused some one to die(can't get out so they burned alive, blew up,or smoke inhalation ) as opposed to safe their lives. SO I do dispute the fact that they safe lives! And don't get me started on second hand smoke BS. Your one of those I believe and do whatever the News/Police/ Government says is right type people, Right? Second I'm not *****ing about anything I'm saying it is BS and should be changed. Those Laws are different from state to state area to area(at least the helmet and smoking ones). So what does that mean that in some places it is safer to not wear a helmet or in some places second had smoke is not as damaging. Come on! Get off your high horse and let me decided what is right and wrong FOR ME you guys sound like a damn click it or ticket commercial.
