1995 Sport, Auto...

My NP242 grinds (except 4wd Lo). So I got a replacement 231 (cheap). Correct input splines from transmission, different connector for the indicator light on the dash.

Bolted in (sort of fine...hard to get to two nuts).

Put the Rear Drive Shaft in place, worked great.

Glitch on the front...the replacement has a different yoke than the original t-case.

OK, got the right size socket (1 1/8" for your reference).

Got the old one off (used a pipe wrench on the t-case that I had taken off the car).

Got the one on the Cherokee off..

Then the glitch...the 'correct' yoke (off the original T-case that matches my drive shaft)...looks like this...




The replacement yoke (that came off)...



So.....

The correct yoke matches up to a bigger output shaft than the replacement 231 has....

SO IT WON'T WORK!!

Same nut size, but the replacement t-case has a slightly smaller diameter splined shaft.

Anyone know if I can get a replacement yoke that looks like the first one but has a smaller diameter hole?

Any other options?

Took it around the block...first real movement since I got it here (OK, since it was towed here...radiator blew when I was trying to get it home). Kind of loud with no floor in the vehicle....
