I'm replacing the fan clutch in my 1990 cherokee... one more idea to try to troubleshoot my overheating problems.
Are there any considerations I need to make when getting one? Are they all basically the same?
I found one for $50 here:

Is that good enough? If not, could someone recommend something else (or another site to buy from) please?
Thanks guys

the one you link to is a spring clutch
the better ones are gel
ether way you need to be sure its the right size and heat rang for your Cherokee

Your local parts house should sell the gel filled type. As for the t-stat a nice HD style is the best way. On the t-stat do not cheap out and do not get a spring loaded fan clutch they will wear out way to fast.
On the t-stat get a nice Stant superstat..can't beat em and they last a long time from my experience.

Yeah, I wanted to try the Neon Fan idea too, but JY's are limited out here and the only one I know of... yeah, $125 for it
That's why I'm back to a fan clutch =\

I am running with no mechanical fan right now with no over heating problems
you need
thermostat
water pump
or new radiator
and check the bottom house to be sure its not collapsing
it should have a metal spring inside it to keep it from collapsing if its rusted out that may be it
