Brand new here, just bought a 97 cherokee sport. I wanna get all the little bugs out then start modding this baby! First bug, Air conditioner/heater works great but won't blow out the main ports. Only through the floor vents and defrost vents. Would this be the control unit or something like a disconnected hose? I am guessing control unit. Of course the haynes manual doesn't get into air conditioning. Look forward to becoming an educated and productive part of this community! Thanks in advance.

 

Sounds like a vacuum leak....start by checking the vacuum canister behind the front bumper.

 

Check the plastic vacuum tube on the passenger side of the engine bay. It usually cracks right near the battery from corrosion. As the previous poster said make sure it's plugged into the big canister ball under the front bumper.

 

can you all post some pictures for the location of the canister please?
