Do a search on here and you should find out what the oil is and how much you need. Off the top of my head I can't remember what the ac compressor is exactly called. No, a shop vac will not work. It needs to be a vacuum pump made for drawing a vacuum on the ac system. They do sale them for a decent one it will run you at least $130 on up. It would be a lot cheaper to just have it done.

I have a compressor for a 99 XJ just sitting on a shelf. If anyone is close to me and willing to come and get it, you can have it cheap.
