Ahh no heat or a/c!!!
The other day, i was riding around with the windows down cause it had finally warmed up enough to ride without heat, until you spill a McDs sweet tea on you lap. So i go to turn the heat on and, nothing happens. I try all the settings and even go to cold and not the slightest thing happens. Any ideas on what could have caused this? I mean it worked no more than a week before. Quick answers would be much appreciated b/c its gonna get very cold later on next week and i wanna be warm.

how hard would it be to replace? im kinda inexperienced at this but am tight on cash so i really dont wanna have it put in. And could it be anything else or is there a way to test it? I just dont wanna go replace it and then there be something else wrong. If it helps i was kinda just goin off for maybe a sec when i first turned it on.

if u pull the resistor... it will have only 2 wires going to it... one single plug... most resistors are help is my only 2 screws or 2 like 8mm mini bolts... they are right there with the blower... which may have 3 or 4 screws holding it in... its black and round... probly 10in wide or so... its real easy... when u pull your resistor itll look like a circuit board... if its burnt up then thats your problem... means the bearing or motor went out on your blower and youll need to replace BOTH or youll be replacing both again later... if its good and not black then cut on your heater and test the power to that little plug to the resistor... should have power... if it does check the other wire to make sure u got a good ground... if you have a good ground and no power then theres no power getting to the blower via the switch or wiring or blown fuse... in fact check your fuses first... i woud hope u already did that though...

OK, checked the fuse, and its not blown, i even replaced it just in case and its a no go...BUT my heater did kick back on this morning (i had it already turned on) could it be a loose wire? i mean it works like it should now, but i really want to fix it so it dont do it again.

lol... yeah must have been buzzin when i read that i dunno what i was thinking... the blower motor may be plugged in on the pass side fire wall... a plug connected to the big round bowl looking area (blower) or it could be the plug on the resistor which is under the dash on the pass side...

My wifes 2000 XJ just started having a similar problem...
Heater works but only on high fan speed; nothing on lower speeds.
Could this also be a bad Heater Blower Resistor?
(partially good/bad)
Unfortunately, I didn't cover this system back in the day when we launched the "XJ" in Toledo... not my area of experience.
Thanks,
