Could this also be a bad Heater Blower Resistor?

Unfortunately, I didn't cover this system back in the day when we launched the "XJ" in Toledo... not my area of experience.

Thanks,
yes... replace your blower and resistor for sure... most of the time when they fail they fail this way... with only acouple speeds working...

Default most likely the resistor

My 2001 had the same issue with the blower cutting in and out, it was the resistor. This was good, because the removal and replacement of the the blower required the removal of the car from around the the blower motor.(Installation is reverse of removal. Haynes Manual)

Hey John I have an 01 sport and had same problem when mine got wet. Looked ok but it would only blow on high. Blower motor is wired directly to the battery on the high setting. That is why it only works on high. Your resistor is located under pass side dash. I got mine from a JY. They saved me about 38 bucks. So if you can locate one from a JY go for it. But it is easy to change. Just have to be careful with your trim. Unless you are not worried about looking good. Best of luck.

I’m having the same issue I replaced both blower motor and resistor, I also checked the fuses and wiring everything is fine, and I’m still not getting any air flow at all. So I’m not sure what else could be the issue.
