Not a geek in my book bro!! Ive been reading injector post for the last few weeks trying to gather as much info as I can before I do the swap, and the info you giving here is AWESOME. Question for you thou, im a bit confused as to what injector I need for my 2000 XJ. Found this thread and this chart not long ago. What are your thoughts? You suggest Neon, yet this chart dosent seem to include the neon injector for my year

everything said about these injectors makes sense, but does anyone have an explanation as to exactly what these injectors do for performance?
scientifically speaking. not just assumptions

I've said this multiple times in this thread and I'll say it again.
A 4 hole injector will more efficiently vaporize fuel than a single hole injector.
Fuel that has been vaporized better will burn quicker and more completely, which will gain a very slight but still noticeable improvement in throttle response, power and gas mileage.
The only way to scientifically prove this would be detailed gas milage charts in consistent weather conditions, on the same route over a period of time using the different injectors and multiple Dyno runs under similar conditions.
