Default Aftermarket Injectors? - Aftermarket Header?

Got a 97 XJ with 159,000 miles. I was thinking about buying some Better Fuel Injectors and a Better header. Any suggestions on Injectors and headers? I have a K&N CAI, High Flow Cat, Flowmaster super 40 muffler. I would like it to be a little louder-hoping a better header will fix this. Are aftermarket injectors worth buying? Any Links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You actually have the best injectors that were put into a cherokee.

'87-90 18.6lb/hr @ 39psi
91-93 21.0lb/hr @ 39psi
94-95 21.0lb/hr @ 39psi
96-98 23.2lb/hr @ 49psi
99-01 22.5lb/hr @ 49psi

The stuff I have read says that the 96-98 injectors and map sencer/computer can handle the upgrades that you might do. and are just as good as the ford injectors that are talked about for a swap. My suggestion is to have them professional cleaned. Mine cost about 130.00 to have done. I have a borla header. The only problem I have with it is when the left front tire drops into a hole/ditch etc. and all the other wheels are on same level of road the front driveshaft hits it. Grant it it has to be a big hole, but I think other headers might have a better design. That would come down closer to the oilpan. Then again my junk could be messed up. My2c.

for injectors most people upgrade to either Dodge Neon Injectors or FMS 19lb/hr injectors.

For the neon injectors you need to get a specific p/n injector

It can help with your gas milage a bit. It doesn't change the amount of fuel the Jeep gets it just changes how that fuel is dispersed. From what I know all cherokees came with single hole spray injectors stock. the FSM 19lb or Neon injectors are 4hole spray so the fuel vaporizes and burns better. I have FSM 19lb injectors on my XJ and I've noticed that in neutral it revs quicker and my gas milage went up by 1-2mpg. It also seems to have helped my available low end torque a bit.

I'd recommend Neon injectors. FSM work and work well. I would've bought a 2nd set of 4 Neon injectors if I hadn't gotten such a good deal on the FMS 19lbs I have in it now.
