Default Advice please on stalling when hot and slow

Jeep runs fine on the road. Problems start either when it’s hotter outside and i’ve been driving and then come to a stop say in a drive thru or just in a parking lot. Or when i’m on trails moving slow. It will do it’s normal cool down where the fan kicks on then cools it down but after a few cycles it will just shut off and won’t start until the temp is around 180-200. Coolant is fine. Fan works fine and does it’s job because it will cool it down before this happens. After it starts back up it seems to run fine and won’t overheat even if i’m still going slow on trails. Any advice on how to stop it from overheating to begin with? Is it something specific or do I just need to rework my whole cooling system? Any advice is appreciated.

Ok, IMPORTANT fact & question here. You stated that you are moving slow on the trails, so that indicates low airflow over your radiator. So the question, do you have a fan shroud still?

But to add on, it will get that hot before but will cool itself. Only on about the 4th or 5th cycle it just dies on me.

You can put woven foil socks on the injectors. When did you replace the CPS?

So I don’t think it’s a cooling issue anymore, yesterday it got to about 215-220 and just shut off. Fan didn’t even come on. I know it can cool itself so i’m thinking maybe a coolant temp sensor or cps like you mentioned. Not sure
