I did the decorbonizing and pulled the water temp sensor and both did nothing except set off a check engine light. The lambda also shows its running lean. Why do people install voltge adjusters to the map sensor?

How were you able to discern that the NOx emissions were not improved?

On a Sunday? I thought civil servants weren't allowed to work on Sunday else they spontaneously combust.

The map adjuster is what I'm looking at but I am wondering if the pcm will keep compensating and lean it out? Therefore rendering the adjuster useless.Or will it fool the o2 sensor and pcm and richen it up?If the o2 sensor is reading a lean signal, telling the pcm to lean out ,is it possible it is trying to get more fuel or is the o2 sensor going to compensate for the adjusted fuel and tell the pcm to lean out?

Dino said the adjustable map sensor will only work in open loop. Maybe bigger injectors?

Maybe. I had injectors that came out of a state police cruiser in my XJ when I went for the emissions test and my reading was to rich

sounds like the adjustable map sensor will only work in open loop.I need to richen it up according to the lambda calc. it came up with 1.046 = to lean = high nox. How can you richen it up?
