Default Acting weird

The past couple of days my jeep has been acting up where when ever I give it a good amount of gas it accelerates then stops then accelerates then stop, it seems to only do it while going up hills I have no idea what could be causing it, I was thinking it could just be the humidity that we've been having in ohio the past couple of days but now it's not so humid it's still doing it. I need some help on where to start looking!

Check the fuel pressure. Have you done any maintenance such as tune ups or anything?

I took it to the shop acouple times recently to get some things done but he looks over my jeep every time and he hasn't found anything if I can't figure anything out I'll just take it in I'm gonna do my spark plugs and all of that to see if that does anything and just to freshen her up, it has 190k so that may be a factor

Always replace the spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor when changing the plugs.

Would those cause a lack of acceleration ?

If the ignition system is not in tip top shape, yeah, it could cause a lack of performance. That goes for the fuel system too.

Default Fuel Filter?

I/ve had your problem in my 96... You may have a partially clogged fuel filter. You can check fuel fuel pressure at the engine, and that will tell you if the fuel pump is OK, but not whether the filter is shot. If you can't say for sure when it was last replaced, do it.
I don't know about your 98, but my filter was mounted just ahead of the L Rear wheel. It's easy to change.

Apparently the only fuel filter on a 97+ is in the tank. Also not prone to clogging unless the tank is full of ick.
