Default Accel ignition kit

Anyone running the Accel ignition kit and coil? Any noticeable improvement with it?

I ran the ignition kit with the stock coil on my '91 4.0L ... Accel plugs, wires, dist. cap, and rotor. Was very happy with it. No problems to report at all. Shop around and you can get a good deal.

Alright, thanks Montana...I changed everything when I got it but I used cheap-o Duralast parts (except the plugs) and it's time for an upgrade!

Ill let you know in a couple weeks: I just purchased the complete Accel tune up kit plus the high performance coil. Hoping someone else chimes in on this one too, in case it wasnt a good purchase so I can return it.

Awesome! Let me know, I want to do the whole deal with the coil at the same time. I would like to hear if it's worth the $140!

I would more then likely stay away from most aftermarket coils due to lack of dependability in my own personal vehicles/customer vehicles

I installed the complete Accel kit on 3 of my XJ's. It has always been my first performance upgrade, and you will notice how much better the Jeep runs after the install.

The only problem Ive ever had was a bad coil got shipped to me. Everything was fine and dandy for a few 100 miles, then the Jeep would die every once in a while. Turned out the conacts in the coil were loose. They replaced it no problems

$140!?!?!?!?! I just got the complete super tune-up kit for $48, the coil was $43 and the wiring harness was $20, totalling $111. SHOP A ROUND! I know its only $29, but $30 bucks over and over can add up to a LOT! I just checked, and the place I bought my stuff is now $54, $48 & $23 which is $125 (still $15 cheaper than $140 and $15 adds up too). A considerable difference than a couple weeks back.

Got mine at Summit. And I spent over a certain amount and got free shipping too. There are ALWAYS deals going on from week to week. Its kind of a pain, but I get their emails to just skim over real quick. I bought like $200 worth of stuff and had free shipping, plus their prices were lower than anywhere else I could find at the time.

Thing is, the stock ignition is very good and more then capable of providing enough spark if its in good shape. If anything a set of higher performance wires are all you need.
