Okay ... my 95 xj is showing it's age. The distributor just snapped off at the base, the water pump and thermostat just went out and when I got it back from the shop the ignition started smoking and the ac stopped blowing on high - only low and medium. I purchased and installed a new blower motor and resistor but it still won't blow on high. What gives?! Can anyone help here? Thanks

Very strange. The resistor is only for speeds 1-3, and speed 4 is direct current(???? could be the switch???). Hope someone else has something more helpful to add.....What to you mean by ignition smoking? At the key? Sounds like ignition switch needs to be replaced....this appears to happen (very rarely), but if so the switch needs replacing

There was smoke coming from the steering column when I was bringing it back from the shop after they replaced the distributor and wiring. It wasn't a lot, I may not have even seen it if the sun hadn't hit it just right. Since the fix it hasn't been running right either - engine sounds rough/throaty and it feels like I'm driving with the parking brake on. It heats up quick too, past 220 within a few minutes on the highway.
