Default AC Issues

My 2005 Jeep Cherokee AC hasn't worked since I purchased it. The fan only work on high and I tried the recharge with freon thing and it worked for a few hours.

A friend works at a mechanic school and found there was leak in the compressor. I replaced the compressor and some drier part and recharged it and it worked for a few days, but then it went back to only blowing warm air.

Suggestions? I would rather not take it to a shop for the $90 diagnostic fee.

Thanks,

JMoney

Recharge it with dye and then check for leaks . Use soapy water at all joints and fill valves .

Thank you but that was how we found that the condenser has an issue so I don't believe any other leaks are present or they would have showed up initially.

Did you recharge it yourself? If so, that's not accurate. The self filling cans have gauges but are not very accurate. Take it to a shop, have it recovered, vacuumed, filled with dye and freon, then go from there. You have a leak. The freon doesn't just disappear.
