Default AC electric fan not turing on

I just had my compressor and dryer replaced. The AC works fine but the electric fan will not kick on. All the fuses are good. Ran a wire to the fan direct and it turns on. Where do I look next? Thanks...

The fan is energized when the A/C is turned on. The PCM completes the ground path for the Aux Fan Relay. Check your grounds and test the relay.

it doesn't come on with the AC, or it doesn't come on at all? If it comes on w/ the AC but not when the engine starts to run hot, check the coolant temperature sensor too.

The AC/Defrost engages the e-fan. That said, the coolant temp sensor on the bellhousing also engages it when the temps push 230'ish or higher. 210-225 is the normal running temp for 'em with a stock thermostat, and where they like running at.

Edit: My 2K1 stays smack on 210*, my old '90 Laredo liked 220* until I did my big cooling system overhaul last summer, now it runs between 195-200*)

Ok, my bad, I was relaying what others had posted regarding the efan operation on '00 & '01 models. It's also been posted that '00 & '01 models could be re-programmed by the dealer to make the efan operational when the a/c compressor is engaged. I believe 218F coolant temp is what the ECM/PCM sees to engage the fan, not what that goofy factory gauge displays.

Plug a scan tool into the ALDL port and watch the coolant temp yoyo (especially this time of year)........that's why I say "that goofy factory gauge".

No, not true. The PCM's cannot be reprogrammed. They can be reflashed with the original parameters but that's it.
