ac control connector melted
1992 Cherokee sport. noticed blower would go off and on. pulled dash and noticed connector on right (flat connector with four wires) melted, second wire from right, getting hot and melted connector to point electrical contact wasn't made. got junkyard connector and system is now functional but same wire getting very hot. Proactively replaced blower motor and resistor. What is this wire connected to? Any way to stop the heat? It has less heat the lower the speed control (4 wire switch on the LEFT when looking at dash) is set to. saw a youtube video where a guy removes the yellow and green from this switch and connects them, when his blower is turned on now, only works on high speed. thought of doing this but don't know if it would affect if the wire on right switch continues to overheat...that's what I want to stop. tried searching for this issue but couldn't find anything. gary
