Default ABS Fuses Missing

Hello,
Officially I'm new to Cherokee Forum, but I have been using this site for a few months now and I have just about fixed everything that is broken on my 99 4.0L limited XJ.
This site has been really useful so I'm coming with problems that I cannot find on other threads. I believe that ABS is standard on cherokees and it is listed on the fuse panel to the left of the engine. The 40amp ABS motor and the 20amp ABS SOL (idk what that is) and the square ABS light relay are missing. Moreover, the clips that hold these fuses in are also missing. So do I not have ABS or is there any other explaination? This car has been in my family since new and has been well taken care of.
This is unrelated but I also cant find the rubber fastener that holds the exhaust pipe up, if I could get a link that would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

my wheeling buddy has a 98, and i have a 95. all our abs fuses are missing due to the fact that neither of us have abs. if u have the 8.25 rear end u dont have abs also. hope this helps. good luck & welcome to forum. theres alot of valuable info here if u look.
as for ur rubber hanger, they sell them at autozone.

Do you have ABS components under your hood?

If not, since its been in your family its entire life, you probably just plain don't have it.

Otherwise its possible everything was removed. Unlikely since you should know the history very well.

I don't have the components but the fuses were listed on the cover. I just thought it was weird that the truck came with everything other option (even heated seats) and no ABS brakes.
Oh well, is it a big deal not to have them?

I'm sure the fuse box covers were just mass produced, you got the same one if you have ABS or not.

As for your question to weather or not its a big deal is more of a personal preference question. Some like ABS some don't.

I could see it causing problems during certain off road situations, though, but that could just be my driving style.

ABS only really works when you slam on the brakes though, correct? Also I live in Minnesota and I believe they also cause you to slide farther than conventional brakes, what part of offroading would be troublesome? I have very little experience in that category
