About to buy an old XJ
My mom owned an 87, and a 95. Loved both. Thats what got me into wanting one of my own. Not too big, not too small. Cheap. Affordable. Reliable. Relatively easy to work on (some things are a PITA regardless of the year). As a bonus its got 4wd, and the 4.0L with the AW4 is a solid combination. Mileage is decent. Mid teens, maybe more.
If its got part time 4wd only, find a stone lot or dirt road to test it out. Part time needs to slip to work. Aside from that, look it over like any other vehicle.

I pulled the trigger and bought this beauty! Needs a rear diff service, suspension work for the death wobble, new battery, and a few other miscellaneous repairs. But I love it! Thanks everyone!
