Tonight after driving the car and getting gas and turning it back on the car started with the voltage at the minimum 9 and the check gauges light was immediately on...also as I was driving home my headunit totally lost power a couple times, the gauges and lights of the interior like the climate control and speedo and everything the backlight was almost invisible and also the headlights were dim beyond belief as well as the high beams...i had to physically push my passenger side front window up as it would not go up with automatic switch and my drivers window went up on its own but barely and much slower than usual...also the airbag light was on for some reason...is this most likely an alternator issue?
Ok, If you did and the connection cleaning and you are still having the same problem. Your best bet would to be to remove the alt. and take it to any parts store and have it bench tested. While you are at it take the battery too and have them do a load test on it. Most parts store like AutoZone will test them for free. Give that a shot. Hopefully that will tell you a little more to your puzzle. Once you do that let us know what you find out.

X2, do the alternator or have it done, it's cooked and you used up the juice in the battery, do the belt while your at it

Went down to a shop that remanufactures electronics for cars in my town and picked up a new OEM spec remanf. for 119...Have the battery getting a full charge right now should be done in a couple hours...the new alternator is in and just waiting for the battery hopefully that should fix the problem.
