trouble starting how? slow cranking? no cranking? normal cranking but no start?

First thing i would do is get the battery load tested at your local auto parts store.
Secondly replaced the battery terminals.
Third clean up your engine grounds REALLY well (one by the battery and one at the rear of the valve cover)

Try starting it in neutral?

May have a bad neutral safety switch.

Default '99 Cherokee XJ 4.0--not starting in cold weather

I am having a very similar issue. My Jeep is a '99 Sport 4.0 auto. It won't turnover at all (e.g. no cranking. Just the electric starts up. The battery is reading about 12 volts. I just replaced the TPS and the IAC sensors when I installed my new exhaust manifold about a week ago.

I did try starting her in Neutral and obviously didn't get any response. Additionally, I know the fuel pump is working because I checked the little bleeder valve that runs along the top of the intake manifold and plenty of fuel squirted out.

Weather has been about 30 - 40 degrees. Could it be the IAT sensor?

I have put about 18 hours of work into this baby over the last 2 weeks and am ready for it to start running smooth, dammit!

Thank you in advance for any and all of your input!

That's not a sensor issue.

i'm having the same problem, and i think its the neutral safety switch. Is there a way to bypass or jumper the switch out?
