Default 99 jeep cherokee oil leak need help

Hey did a search..found some good info but i like to get info on my exact problem...so i have a 99 automatic jeep cherokee that recently started leaking oil a little...found out by taking it to walmart to get the oil changed and they canceled it...they said it was leaking and i check its leaking a small bit...im looking for a good quality write up on how to change my oil pan gasket...assuming its like most oil pan gasket change where you just drain...scrape...and replace then refill...or is there more to it than that?

are you sure that's where the leak is coming from? have you checked some of the other really common areas also? valve cover? oil filter adapter? I would clean everything up real good (if you haven't already) and run it for a little while and keep a close i on it to locate the exact location.

Check the back of the valve cover first. Thats the most common leak and it will appear to be the oil pan or rear main. And also Walmart does oil changes?!

Rear main seal leaks are very common on 4.0 liters. I would not pull the oil pan with out replacing the rear main. But verify the valve cover is not leaking first.
