the 00-01 procedure may be different because they use coil packs on plugs. if u have an older cherokee with a renix engine ( not sure of dates but i think they were used from 86 to 1990) u do remove dist. gear to replace sensor as it is in diff location in distributor. on the chrystler HO efi (.which u should have). procedure is what i posted before. here are diagrams and read this page.

I ordered a Haynes manual, ill have to see what it say in there, but ill try with the simple and cheaper stuff...im sure it wouldnt do any harm
