Did you change those plugs and run the seafoam through before it threw up light? If so what kind of plugs did you use?

i dont think it matters but i would probably do seafoam in crank to clean motor and lifters and all and in intake to clean carbon from throttle body. the coil in the distributor the guy mentioned earlier is prob the pickup coil which is also the camshaft position sensor on that vehicle.

after seafoam take off iac and clean it to improve idle.

If you're gonna do plugs you might wanna repl the spark plug wires, cap and rotor too just for safe measure.

I remember now, sometimes called a sync generator. One guy removed the deal that holds the dizy and spun it all around, didn't do anything. The brain had already synced the injectors and didn't need it, I guess is what they are saying.

...Or called a "stator" on the 99 model.- have to remove the distributor to replace it. Haynes manual Page 5-10 procedure 14.

have you cleaned the IAC valve yet?

Wiggle your connections at the PCM connectors see if anything changes while engine running.....see my recent thread on mother in law's grand cherokee.

changing pickup coil is pretty simple. disconnect negatve battery cable. unscrew two screw holding on distributor cap. pull off cap. remove rotor button. unplug the wire harness and remove the pickup coil. install new and follow directions in reverse.

to clean iac unscrew two retaining screws. pull iac out and spray with intake cleaner. wipe clean with towel. repeat until clean. becareful not to break it. let dry and replace it.

The darn Haynes manual wants you to remove the whole dizzy, tap out a keeper pin, remove gear from shaft, remove shaft just to replace the stator on 99 and older vehicles.
