Check this link. Most helpful one on here for death wobble. I followed this and got mine fixed, but by going through the list I also found some things that would have brought it back pretty quick had I not checked them over and replaced some parts.

Won't matter at 3" up front. Most he would need to do is drill a new hole 3/4" over. An adjustable isn't needed until 4"+.

It could be a collection of worn out parts- bushings, ball joints and the like. If there are original (or just older) afore mentioned parts then there is a good chance they are all attributing to your DW..

its not causing his death wobble, but redrilling for the stock track bar is a band aid fix that shouldn't be done.

my dif was offcentered on my old xj at exactly 3'' of lift I'd say anything over 2.5 needs an adjustable track bar.

even cupped and out of balance tires can cause death wobble.

Blacksmith - different experiences for different people - every jeep reacts differently to a lift. I ran 3" for about 2 years with the stock track bar redrilled and never had an issue. I didn't go with and adjustable until I went to 4.5". I'm not saying his track bar is the main issue, or even the axle being off centered is, but they could be two of many the possibilities though. Again, that's why I gave him the link in post #2. It covers everything nearly everything.

Bushings yes, upper arms don't need to unless you really fell like. Stock uppers are fine for a 3" lift.

I put a 3.5" RE lift on mine and an adjustable track bar. The wobble showed up right then and once I had the front end alignment done (the toe in was just a little too aggressive and caused by the geometry change from the lift) the wobble was gone. I've been DW free for two years now.
