98 xj climate control
I accidentally broke the plastic piece that the cable goes into on the back of the **** for the temp adjustment. I am replacing the heater core and evap core and had to much tension on the cable. It seems that the piece comes off the back of the climate control and it appears it can be replaced with out buying the whole assembly. It's a white plastic piece that has a seat where a cable end fits in. I'm looking to replace just this piece. Is this possible or do I have to buy a whole new climate control pannel for my dash? Does anyone have a part number or parts diagram? My Haynes manual is close to useless to even try and identify a name for the part.

The selector is easy to change but I don't think you can buy just the selector.

Not really helpful to the OP, but THANK YOU CCKen. I have a HVAC control panel listed for sale on here and had mistakenly listed it for a '97-'01. It came off a 2001 so it looks like it fits only '00-'01. Thanks again.
OP, I'd just grab one from a yard or ebay and be done with it. BYW, part #s on site I looked at today showed 97-99 as the same part, so I'd check and doublecheck if I were you.

I agree on double checking with the Evilbay seller if it is, in fact, a 97-98 panel. I saw one advertised on there that said it was for a 97-98 but the backside view of the panel showed it was for a 99-01.
