I don't text on my flip phone because it only has 12 keys. I spend too much time fixing mistakes!

If you want decent help from people and expect them to decipher what you are trying to say and explain, along with being able to speak the English language sufficiently with a decent vocabulary, it would be really helpful to use it. I'm not saying you are a dummy, but since we have to READ what you are saying rather than LISTEN to you speak it in person, it would really help to have clear and concise verbiage. We don't want to read and have to try and interpret what you are trying to say because its the longest run-on sentence ever. It should be clear the first time we read it.

Stepping down from my soapbox now......
in all reality i was actually at work at the shop pulling a motor out of a 2003 chevy Silverado and was using google talk to text but i would have rather typed it then that. And im not good with punctuation anyways but i am usually understandable to others my bad bro

I am talking maybe a '63 Buick V6 like I had in my '46 CJ2A (SBC would be so cool to), old school 2 lever transfer case, locking hubs on the front, etc.
Emissions testing in my state stops after 25 years.
I could get away with it then. LOL.
It is very doable you just have to cut the motor mounts out and replace them with the chevy ones i have done it once for a friend who was wanting a hunting truck we took a k5 blazer 4×4 and put the front and rear axle transfer case motor and transmission in a 93 2 door xj cherokee the only problem we ran into was we had to order shorter drive shafts to make it all fit under the jeep it was amazing and fun until he rolled it one night outside of Comanche and burnt it to a crisp im just glad he made it out of the truck before the fuel tank blew i will post pictures of the truck if i still have them somewhere its been a while since I have seen any

You could probably use the piston from the 2000 as long as the dish is the same and it fits diameter wise, but I'd steer away from that 0331 head. It will fit your block, but not your exhaust manifold without an adapter. You could use it temporarily but keep in mind it's a time bomb. Also, how are the bearings in your motor since it's been running with water in the oil?

Personally, I like your idea of a sbc 350 with carb and a THM 350 trans if you can get it registered in TX that way. The THM 350 is pretty near bullet proof. The 700R4 is too complicated with the O/D and lockup. Guys have already put LS1s in XJs.
and by the way there was never water in my oil it was leaking into the cylinder and being pushed out the exhaust system and the bottom end on mine is great except for the hole in the piston of cylinder 1 and what if i use the 2000 exhaust manifold and my 98 intake so that the fuel injection and i can keep my throttle body im really trying to get this done so i can get the money to fix it right i want to get an elderbrock head with roller lifters and bore the bottom end out around 30 to 40 over and possibly turbo it but im going to start out small first

Okay, but keep in mind the 2000 has 2 cast iron manifolds with small cats on them and a y-pipe below them. You should be able to work something out.
