98 cherokee fixing the 4wd
So recently I purchased a 98 cherokee sport. W/ the 4wd engaged it would pull from left to right and generally be all over the road. After replacing axle shaft and drive shaft u joints, passenger side inner seal, and inspecting the gears the problem persisted. Running out of ideas I took it for an alignment and guess what they found... My 98 had a bent front axle. Trip to the junkyard, a night in the garage, and presto change-o no left/right pull w/ the 4wd engaged. Unfortunately I've owned 2 other cherokee's and I know something else isn't right. There's some noise w/ 4x4 engaged and it does have difficulty shifting (t-case), but I think the best symptom to give you is that when I have 4wd engaged and I put it in neutral and roll to a stop it feels as tho the front brakes are dragging. Keep in mind that symptom only occurs with 4wd engaged. Any ideas would be helpful, thanks!!

I assume you mean the hub and bearing assembly. No I did not replace them as it was not necessary. If I'm not mistakin I would be feeling bad hub and bearings in 2h not only 4wd. I checked the t case level and it was good. I loosened the bolt to adjust the shift linkage, but it was so rusted I couldn't get any movement out of it.
