Default 98 4.0 No Start

I just purchased a 98 4.0 and it has a no start issue. Here are some of my observations:

The fuel pump is not priming when the ignition is turned on
The Fuel level and Volt Meter Gauges are not moving when the ignition is on
The engine turns over just fine and the battery is brand new
All fuses are intact
The CPS is brand new and was just replaced

I'm new to Jeeps and don't know where I should start. What do you guys/gals think?

When you say the pump isn't priming, do you mean that you just don't hear it?

you may want to get under there with a voltmeter and be sure that you're getting power to the pump. If yes, then proceed with pressure test. The pump can prime without you being able to hear it. My '98 factory fuel pump was silent at around 161k miles. I replaced it because of the fuel gauge not working.

Which fuses did you check? PDC in the engine bay and Junction Block in the passenger footwell?

I'm used to being able to hear fuel pumps prime when the ignition is turned on in other cars, but maybe it is quieter in these cars. I can get the pump to run when I jump it at the relay. I will check the fuel pressure and see where its at.

The fuses in the engine bay as well as the passenger foot well have been checked.

I also just looked into replacing the cam position sensor, and it seems that the entire distributor needs to be replaced in this case. Anybody have a different experience? and any recommendations on a distributor to go with?

Sometimes fuses can fool you and you're better off to just replace it/them.

Fuse #11 in the JB powers the relay control coil for the Fuel Pump relay, the ASD relay, and powers the PCM and TCM. If this fuse blows the engine won't start and the PCM will go stupid.

You may want to just replace this fuseand see if it helps.

Thanks for the help and I will do. I may end up going through all of the fuses and just replacing them for piece of mind.

No need to buy new fuses if you have a multimeter to check them.
