Default 97 rear speaker bar

Does anyone with a 97 Cherokee have a speaker bar attached to the ceiling or are the speakers molded in behind the headliner? I ask cuz mine is missing and it looks like there was the plastic bar style in there before

Actually it starts in 91 but gets molded into the headliner in the late 90s. I'm just trying to figure out what it looks like on a 97. My 99 had it molded in so it happens somewhere in 97 or 98. I'm about to try a pre 96 and see if it fits

That's why I don't understand why mine shows evidence of an earlier style on being in mine at one point in time. Maybe it's a half year change and mine has a pre 97 style

I'll have to do it tomorrow but it looks like a factory install with the pop rivet and the cut out for the done light. I've had the speaker bars out in some of my previous Jeeps and that's what it looked liked behind it

My 97 has a bar that goes on the outside, but it's covered in headliner and if you're not close to it, it looks molded in to the headliner.

Is your's an early 97 possibly produced in late 96? Does it resemble a 96 down speaker bar?

No, It was built 2/97. I've learned there's a lot of bastard parts on 97s like the domlight and seperate keylees receiver pods versus the later dome light housing that held everything.
