Hey gurus , nice being here. Anyway to the point....my xj is starting like the batery is dying. Went to pepboys and they scan the xj. The and alternator is pomping at 13:58 wich is very good and the batery holds down it's 12:24 and 12:38 volts so maybe the starter? Please share with me any idea. I personally think the batery is going out

 

Did they do a load test on the battery? A bad starter can sound and act just like a low battery. Did you check all your connections to make sure they are tight and clean?

 

+1 on load testing the battery. If they did, then go buy yourself a starter...

 

Load test done. The batery works nice. Im going to hit it at the starter. Thanks to all

 

My 96 XJ did same thing 2 weeks ago. I have a new starter now and all is well.
