Default 96 xj header

so i have the stock header on my 96 xj, its cracked and ive been looking around for a replacement, but can only seem to find cast iron ones for a decent price. im young and broke and not looking for a big upgrade, just some good oem style ones that arent cast iron. any links would be appreciated.

and im new to this so i apologize if this is a dumb question. and new to the forum, not to jeeps.

I have a stock manifold sitting in the basement from when I put my apn header on my 97. Say... 10 bucks plus shipping?

Yeah... That's why you should get the APN header. Extremely cheap compared to others out there and it is quality made. If you buy a used, stock one, there's a great chance it'll end up cracking again in no time. So I say bite the bullet and buy a quality one that you know will last

Yea I think I'm going to just spring for a good one. I just got new motor mounts from brown dog cause the stock ones break like crazy. And from what I've been told when your mounts crack your headers will crack too.

That's correct. The most common cause to a manifold cracking is bad motor mounts. At least that's what they say. My manifold is cracked and found that my motor mounts were shot too. I figure that's one of the big reasons why it cracked. So good call on the brown dog mounts. I've heard very good things about them. That's definitely what I'm gunna use once the stock ones I have in go out

Hmm... Never heard of doing that. But I definitely wouldn't.

Seriously though, get the APN header (the link I posted - very first comment). Do a search so you can see the great reviews that people give. Guaranteed you will not be disappointed.
