Hello, helping a buddy with a no start problem and are at a loss. Have gone through and replaces the Crank position sensor because we know those are common. O2 sensor, IAC valve, and pulled the cap off and cleaned up the rotor and points. Used to start and run for about a minute or 2 then shut off now it wont even start. Also while cranking sometimes there sounds like a loud bang of metal to metal coming from the rear of the engine. Any help is appreciated. Its parked at work right now so can only work on it a few hours a day. Thanks, Dan

 

Start with the basics. Does it have spark? If yes, that eliminates a lot of potential issues. Are the plugs wet like it's getting fuel but not spark. Borrow a fuel pressure gauge from the local autostore and check fuel pressure.
