Default 96 shutting down when warm

After a long day of trouble shooting why my 1996 Jeep Cherokee randomly died while driving without any warning I need some input. So I drove for about 20 minutes before the Jeep just shut off, will crank but won’t turn over when warm, wait 30-90 minutes and starts just fine and runs for about 20 minutes then just shuts off again but here’s the thing it doesn’t sputter or idle rough or anything it just turns off as if the computer tells it to. Jeep was running at about 223 F while sitting in the sun today and idling at about 800 rpms. Thinking something catalytic converter/o2 sensor related but would that cause the Jeep to just shut down? It could be a lot of things so I’m hoping somebody has had a similar situation

I had similar issues with my '00. The CPS is prone to thermal failure. Maybe this is what is going on here. Can read more about my issues here:

thank you, problem is mine won’t start right up like yours did, getting ready to make a big purchase on rock auto and hopefully CPS or catalytic converter fixes it

But I went a bit before I actually replaced it. As time went on the Jeep was harder to start. And just before I replaced it the Jeep almost stranded me. Granted I was about a 1/2 mile from home but almost would not start at all after it stalled.

Never updated but cat seemed to be main culprit but even after replacing that it would sometime have to crank twice to start so I replaced the CPS, $140 for cat and CPS with installing them myself. CPS was really easy.
