Default '96..Help me ID this plug please

RHD '96..Help me ID this plug please

It pokes out under the dash, and appears to be a 9 pin plug (passenger side RHD)

wire colors are yellow, black, blue, orange (on one side)...on the other side ...orange, pink, white, violet & white

Just a guess, but I think it is the original connector to the radio. You might pull your radio and see how it is wired in.

No, I did not. Thankyou for your concern.

It does not conform to the radio plug wire colors identified in the relevant RHD manual, and my radio works, but I seem to recall it had bodgy wiring with duct tape ( before I fixe that)..could have been my previous XJ though

This does not neccesarily mean it isnt that plug though, as I also had to ID another plug under the dash...and the wire colors do NOT match that shown in the FSM..(fairly close, but not the same)

I may post the same question on the Australian forum and see if anyone knows (doubtful)

It is a nuisance when the FSM is just plain wrong or misleading, which they certainly can be, as I have found out with other vehicles

mine are '96...a "bastard year"...but I have the rare '96 manual, with a RHD wiring diagram in it...I believe things can be different for USA, Europe or Oz models
