recently bought a 96 Cherokee sport for general use four wheeling and hunting vehicle the other day I was driving it and it blows a check engine light and then fuel gauge stops working codes were for misfire on almost all cylinders except 6 and a coolant temp sensor under voltage I have been chasing the miss for a few months now any help would be great on that and also why would the fuel gauge just stop working new tank and sending unit just put in and was working fine till now all other gauges work except water temp is off a little jeep runs at 190 on my obII reader all day temp shows slightly above 210 or just pass the middle of the gauge any help on this would be great

Could be a ground issue. I found that the cluster if ground wires that connect to the block between the rear of the engine and the distributor were corroded on my 96. I ended up cutting off the terminals and crimping on new ones.

After I did that, I looked wherever I could for ground points and cleaned them up.

If anything, this is a free thing to do as part of your troubleshooting.
