Try using a screwdriver or remote start switch to 'hot wire' the starter solenoid.. if it cranks, it could be the NSS. If it still won't crank, probably lookin' at a new starter.

I'm sure the more knowledgeable will chime in here, but I will say that even with moving the shift lever around, you can't rule out the NSS completely. There are a few write ups on here about bypassing the NSS. Haven't tried it, but might be worth looking in to, just to rule it out as a suspect... but like I said, wiser jeep-folk will probably have better ideas than me.

If your going to unplug it get some electrical contact cleaner and di-electric grease. Clean and regrease the connector before plugging it back together. By the way do your backup lights work?

Swap out the starter relay in the PDC to confirm it is good. Probe the socket with with your meter for voltage in.
If no voltage at the relay, could be the NSS. Foreveryoung001 is correct in that lack of response while moving the shifter around does not guarantee the NSS is good. Still no guarantee, but the best way to check is to hold the key in the start position while moving the shifter back and forth between Park and Neutral.
Jump the starter solenoid as suggested.
Check with your meter for voltage at the starter and solenoid.

Glad to hear you got it home. If my understanding is correct it's not the NSS if your reverse lights come on when your in reverse. Please someone correct me if i'm wrong. It may be your ignition took a crap. The same thing happened to me power to everything all lights work just no juice to starter when i turned the key. Hope you get ti figured out.

Bad ground to the cluster???? I've heard people have pulled it out and cleaned all the connectors in the back when their gauges don't work.
